The Wolf Den
After a 7 year absence, Orange County's multi-platinum recording artists LIT have returned to the studio with producer Matt Wallace (Faith No More, OAR, The Replacements, Maroon 5) and producer Butch Walker (Gavin DeGraw, Panic! At The Disco, Dashboard Confessional, Weezer). Lit plans to release a new album in May 2012, but in the meantime, have posted a brand new demo with exclusive video footage for the song "You Tonight" on their website.

Wakin Chau Comes to Mohegan Sun to Celebrate Chinese New Year

Born in Hong Kong but college educated in Taiwan, Wakin Chau is a singer-song writer and great performer who has captured hearts.
Since 1987, he has released about 34 albums in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. The total 35 million copies selling records makes he becomes one of the three best-selling Chinese recording artists. His platinum albums such as You Make Me Happy and Sad, Flowery Heart, Music Brings Us Together, Emil & Friends, together with his Cantonese albums, have brought him more than 30 awards in only a few years time, including the Best Singer of Taiwan and Best Singer of Asia.
Chau writes pop music with an oriental feel. He has participated in the soundtracks of many Chinese Kung-Fu TV series and movies.

Get ready to ring in the year of the dragon as Mohegan Sun celebrates Chinese New Year on Sunday, February 5th. Enjoy a variety of events including legendary singer Wakin Chau in Mohegan Sun Arena, a traditional Lion Dance, the Money God, an appearance by the top three 2011 Miss NY Chinese Beauty Pageant stars, special menu items at Sunrise Square and bus giveaways.

Summon luck and fortune with concourse celebrations
Start by visiting the Fortune God from Noon - 2:00pm for a special Red Envelope giveaway and a photo with the Fortune God and then enjoy the traditional Lion Dance as it makes its way throughout the property. The Lion Dance has long symbolized the exorcising of evil spirits and summoning luck and fortune. It will start at 2:00pm heading from Sunrise Square and making its way through The Shops at Mohegan Sun, Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Wind. The Chairman of the Mohegan Sun Tribe, Bruce "Two Dogs" Bozsum, and Mohegan Sun's President and CEO, Jeff Hartmann, will be in attendance, in addition to the Money God and the top three winners of the 2011 Miss NY Chinese Beauty Pagent.
The fun continues with a special performance from a team of thirty kung fu artists who will be on-hand to display their skills. The crew, led by the President and Head Instructor of Malee's School of Tai Chi and Kung Fu, Master Malee and Calvin Chin of Calvin Chin's Martial Arts and Academy in Newton, MA, will perform in The Shops at Mohegan Sun starting at 2:40pm.
Special dishes to savor
Stop by Sunrise Square for a special menu during the holiday with varieties of Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cuisines. Starting on Thursday, January 19th the festive dishes include Braised Pigs Feet in a Bean Curd Oyster Sauce with Taro Root for $14.00. A Steamed Grey Sole with Ginger & Scallion will be available for $18.00. Crispy Garlic-Pepper Shrimp & Lobster will be offered for $28.00. Garlic Seared Snow Peas Leaves will be on the menu for $10.00. There will also be Chow New Year Cake with Vegetables available for $9.50 and Chive Flower Steak for $12.75.

Lauriana Mae

Inspired by the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James, singer/songwriter, Lauriana Mae melds soulful Jazz vocals with contemporary Pop, R&B and Hip Hop music. Recently signed to Atlantic Records, Mae released her debut EP entitled Love Mae in late 2011.
