The Albano Ballet Company production of The Nutcracker is a holiday favorite at Mohegan Sun, thrilling audiences old, young and in-between. Accompanied by a live orchestra under the baton of Maestro Daniel Lee, Albano's traditional version touts an international cast with dancers from Italy, Japan, China, Korea, Israel and Holland. This year's production features Korean ballerina Jung Min Lee as the Sugar Plum Fairy paired with Italy's Marcello Algeri as the Cavalier Prince. Kerryanne Saunders, an eleven-year veteran with the company, dances the Snow Princess partnered with Eric Carnes, a nineteen year old sensational talent privately coached in the Albano Ballet method. Takao Komaru from Japan plays the Cracker Jack in Act II and Marisa Paull of Slovenia dances the Spanish Variation. Choreography and costumes are by Joseph Albano, with the assistance of Julia Frederick.
