J.Geils Band will be performing a very special New Year's Eve concert live at Mohegan Sun Arena.
In a career that has spanned decades, the Massachusetts-based Rock band has recorded hit singles in the 70s including "(Ain't Nothin' But A) House Party" (1973) and "Must Of Got Lost" (1974) and the 80s, first with "Love Stinks" (1980), then with the successful Freeze Frame album which included "Centerfold" (1981) and the title cut. In addition to reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S., "Centerfold" also reached #1 on the Rock Tracks chart for three weeks and topped the ARIA chart in Australia. The song lists at #52 on Billboard's All-Time Top Songs and was an early staple on MTV.

Mohegan Sun Arena will be playing host to an exciting division 1 college basketball doubleheader this winter when the University of Rhode Island takes on Oklahoma State, followed by Central Connecticut State University battling Holy Cross.

Tickets for the Friday, January 15th show will go on sale this Friday, November 20th.
Unstoppable, Rascal Flatts' sixth studio album, hit stores in April. Produced by the band and crossover Rock and Country guitarist/producer Dann Huff, the set debuted in the top spot on The Billboard 200 Album chart and has sold more than 975,000 copies since its arrival, according to the industry journal. Unstoppable follows 2007's multi-platinum Still Feels Good, which spawned Country/crossover hits "Take Me There," "Winner at a Losing Game," "Bob That Head" and "Here." The latter set marked the trio's third consecutive effort to debut at #1 on the U.S. Album chart.
Darius Rucker's debut Country album Learn To Live was recently certified platinum with sales of more than a million copies. Rucker became the first artist in nearly 17 years to top the Billboard Country chart with three consecutive #1 singles, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," "It Won't Be Like This for Long" and "Alright," respectively.

Lady Gaga - The Monster Ball Tour

The flamboyant songstress released The Fame, her major-label debut, last summer. The album peaked at #4 on The Billboard 200 and spawned two hit singles, "Just Dance" and "Poker Face." Two more tracks, "Paparazzi" and "LoveGame," charted at #5 and #6 respectively on The Billboard Hot 100. Earlier this month, Lady Gaga revealed plans to release an expanded version of the album, re-christened The Fame Monster. The revamped set includes eight new songs and is slated to hit stores November 23rd.
Kid Cudi's debut album, Man On The Moon: The End of Day, was released earlier this year and spawned the hit singles "Day 'N' Nite" and "Make Her Say." Earlier this year, he was nominated for the BET Award, "Best New Artist" and the song "Day 'N' Nite" was nominated for the MTV Video Music Award, "Best New Artist."
Miami native Jason Derülo's music career began with his debut single, "Whatcha Say," which was released in May 2009. The song debuted at #54 on The Billboard Hot 100 and hit #1 shortly thereafter. Derülo is currently working on his debut album, which is set for release in early 2010.

Exhibitors showcasing related services such as wine storage, culinary accessories and specialty foods will also be featured. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear commentary from the winemakers and experts, and enjoy delicacies from some of the region's finest restaurants by purchasing tasting portions of signature dishes at a nominal rate.
Held in the Convention Center, the event is from Noon to 5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

To further complement the SUN WINEFEST experience, Saturday night will feature a fundraiser to benefit The Connecticut Sports Foundation Against Cancer. The evening features a Celebrity Chef Dine Around, giving guests the opportunity to be served delectable dishes prepared by world-famous chefs, television celebrities and cookbook authors. Each dish will be paired with extraordinary wines and many talented winemakers will be on-hand. The evening culminates with an elaborate dessert display presented by Mohegan Sun's Executive Pastry Chef Lynn Mansel. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Connecticut Sports Foundation Against Cancer, a non-profit-IRS 501(C)(3) corporation chartered by the State of Connecticut whose mission is to provide economic assistance and compassionate aid to Connecticut cancer patients and their families and raise funds for cancer research. Because CSF is one of only a handful of organizations in Connecticut that provides financial assistance directly to cancer patients and their families, they are inundated with more applications for assistance than they can fulfill. Their long-term goal is to never have to turn anyone away.
